2016 was an amazing year for Jaded.
We moved from Tumblr to our own website, we created new segments and content, our family of contributors grew, and our family of readers grew as well. The magazine turned one year old in November of 2016. We've blossomed as a platform and it is all thanks to the amazingly creative and innovative people who support us, so thank you!
We chose not to publish an issue for December of 2016, and we won't be doing one for January either. Jaded is going on hiatus for a little while. Cynthia and I, the editors-in-chief and founders of Jaded, have been working together to recreate our vision for what this platform is supposed to be and we'll be using the time during this hiatus to help manifest it. We haven't clearly defined how long the hiatus will be, but we know for sure that we'll be back by April of 2017. We might come back before then, who knows? We'll see how things go.
During the hiatus, we will still be active on social media and you might still see some content posted here on the website since our contributors are free to use Jaded as a platform to express themselves even if we're on hiatus. Our readers can also always submit to email@example.com if you want to have your work posted on the site; this is your platform!
One of our biggest priorities during the hiatus will be acquiring new contributors. Like I said, we're remodeling the mission and purpose of Jaded, so we need more people to help us manifest this vision. If you've ever wanted to be part of a creative, artistic movement created by and for people who want to make the world a better place through building coalitions, expressing creative energy, and using art as activism, reach out to us to become a contributor. We are very serious about unifying the youth in an effort to build the future that we want to see, and we'll be using Jaded to do that. Send your work to firstname.lastname@example.org or any inquiries to email@example.com.
Thank you so much for your loyalty, support and input. May 2017 be a year of prosperity, growth, love, and light for all of us!
