There is a perpetual unknowing in life. We spend years questioning who we are, why we're here, and whether we're "doing it right" or making a complete mess of this complicated experiment.
This state of oblivion is universal and ongoing, despite people who try to seem like they know what they're doing or have access to some kind of deep secret. We're all clueless, and pretending not to be is simply a coping mechanism.
These mechanisms, these efforts, come from the mind. The mind can't understand whatever it is we call "life" so it searches for a means of escape. The heart always understands, though. The heart knows.
That's why every now and then we have brief moments of wisdom, pockets of time in which we emerge from oblivion. Once in a while, we live from the heart. We feel through the heart. We become the heart. These are the moments when we're closest to our true essence.
The mind is divine too, which is why we focused on it in November 2015 when Jaded first launched, but the heart comes with a different approach. It comes with intuition, with wisdom, with a divine feminine energy that the world desperately needs right now. That we all need. The heart comes with healing, and this world is crying out to be healed.
November 2016 marks one year since Jaded launched. Before August of 2015, I had never thought of starting a magazine and I had never been known Cynthia. Everything happened suddenly and seamlessly. The heart knows.
I hope you enjoy the creations our amazing, beautiful, endlessly creative contributors produced for this issue. I am truly humbled to be part of this platform with you. May Jaded experience growth and success in the months to come, may you all be inspired to live from the heart, and may the marginalized break through all margins and rise evermore.
